How to keep documents with a property

Every property has a Documents section for the paperwork that lives outside myInspections (past inspection reports from another system, leases, certificates, invoices, and more). Everything for the property stays in one place, next to its inspections.

Add documents

  1. Sign in on the web. Head to myinspections.com and sign in.
  2. Open the property. Documents sits under its inspections.
  3. Select Add (or Add documents if the property has none yet). Drop in as many files as you like, or choose them from your computer. Each one starts uploading straight away.
  4. Check each name and date. Fix anything that's off, add a note if it helps, or select the × to drop a file.
  5. Select Save. The button shows how many documents you're adding.

We accept PDFs, images, Word, Excel, text, and CSV files.

Names and dates

  • Name. Starts as the file's name. Rename it to something your team will recognize.
  • Date. The date the document belongs to, like the day an old inspection was carried out. We read it from a PDF when the PDF records when it was made, and otherwise use the date the file was last changed. Change it to whatever suits.
  • Notes. Optional. Anything worth knowing about the document.

Documents are listed newest first. Select Date at the top of the list to flip the order.

View, edit, and delete

  • View. Select a document's name to open it in a new tab.
  • Download. Select the download icon beside it.
  • Edit. Select the pencil to change its name, date, or notes.
  • Delete. Select the pencil, then Delete. This can't be undone.

Keep in mind

  • Anyone on your team who can see the property can add, edit, and delete its documents.
  • Documents are for your team. They don't appear on reports or for anyone you share a report with.
  • Documents are web only for now.
