Move-out checklist for CA tenancies

A move-out condition inspection report for Canadian rental properties, for landlords and property managers recording condition at the end of a tenancy and comparing it against the move-in report.

Instructions & reminders

Complete this together with the tenant and have both parties sign it, then give the tenant a copy. Compare the property against the move-in report and note any damage beyond normal wear and tear before agreeing the deposit return.

Entrance

Check the front door operates smoothly and locks securely. Note the condition of the doorbell and entry lighting.

Winter readiness

Agree in writing who clears snow and ice before the first snowfall, and check the property is ready for freezing temperatures.
