How to move an inspection to another property

Did an inspection under the wrong property (a similar address, the wrong unit in a complex, a duplicate property, and more)? Move it across instead of doing it again.

Move an inspection in the app

  1. Open the inspection. Find it under its property.
  2. Select Move to another property. It's in the More list.
  3. Pick the right property.

Move an inspection on the web

  1. Sign in on the web. Head to myinspections.com and sign in.
  2. Open the inspection. Open Inspections in the sidebar and select the inspection.
  3. Select Move. Open the three-dot menu at the top right of the inspection and choose Move.
  4. Pick the right property. Under Property to move inspection to, search for the property. Each one shows how many inspections it already has.
  5. Select Save. We take you to the property the inspection now belongs to.

You can also get there from the menu at the end of the inspection's row: choose Edit inspection, then Move inspection.

What moves with it

The whole inspection moves: every area, photo, note, signature, and previous version. Its report link stays the same, and the report shows the new property from then on.

Both properties' next inspection due dates update to match. See how to schedule inspections.

Keep in mind

  • You can move an inspection to another property in the same account. Archived properties aren't listed, so unarchive one first if that's where it belongs.
  • If you only see your assigned properties, you can move inspections between those properties only. See team permissions and how to assign properties.
  • Connected to myRent? Moving an inspection off a myRent property removes it from myRent, and moving it onto one sends it to myRent. See how to connect myRent.
  • Need to change what's in the inspection instead? See how to edit an inspection. To get rid of it, see how to delete an inspection.
